If you’re a sucker for cheap activities and elevated Dad jokes like me, free comedy nights are a must. Luckily, Philly has recurring comedy events with no cover charge nearly every night of the week. Why sit at home when you can giggle for free!

Monday

To start off the week, make your way to Tattooed Moms for Big Ass Bitties hosted by local comedian, Betty J Smithsonian. It’s held on a Monday once every other month starting in January. If you’re hungry, try their classic pickle fried chicken sandwich.

  • 📍 Queen Village
  • ⏰ 6 p.m.

Tuesday

The Ethiopian restaurant Abyssinia hosts Case Comedy every week in their upstairs bar space. There’s rotating comic features and no cover or drink minimum for the show, what more could you wish for!

  • 📍 West Philly
  • ⏰ 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday

A long-running classic, Off Leash Comedy, is a weekly staple of Philly’s comedy scene. Fergie’s Pub runs drink specials all night while hosts Liam Paris and Shane O’Connor curate a lineup of comedians sure to have you in stitches.

  • 📍 Center City
  • ⏰ 9 p.m.

Thursday

If you like following your comedy shows with an open mic, then you have to hit Moonshine! In the side dining room of the gastropub, Good Hang is hosted by a group of friends who book some pros, then open the floor to you!

  • 📍 Pennsport
  • ⏰ 8 p.m.

Friday

Vegan-ish is not only BYOB, but also hosts a free comedy show to help you get in the mood for the weekend. Check out Certainly Funny to discover new comedians every week and stellar vegan and pescatarian food.

  • 📍 Spring Garden
  • ⏰ 6:30 p.m.
