Queen village, located near South Street and the Delaware River waterfront, is Philadelphia’s first and oldest neighborhood, but it glimmers with artsy, modern energy.

Originally, the region was home to the Lenape Indigenous tribe and was known as Wicaco, which means “Pleasant Place.”

In the late 1790s, Wicaco was renamed to honor Queen Christina of Sweden to recognize her role in promoting the original settlements.

Fabric Row on 4th street, named for all of its fabric stores, features some of the area’s most popular shopping and dining businesses such as Retrospect Vintage, LaElite Couture Boutique, and Mexi-Talian Grill.

My favorite place to go is Loomen Labs where you can make your own candle and take it home the same day. It’s a great place for a date night or birthday celebration with friends and family. We love a good craft bonding session.
