Logan Square, the Center City neighborhood located between Broad Street and the Schuylkill River and Market and Spring Garden Streets, is a hub for festivals, parades, dining, shopping, and the arts.

While the neighborhood is called Logan Square, the area is better known for Logan Circle. In the center of the circle lies the monumental Swann Memorial Fountain which doubles as an unofficial wading pool for youth around the city during the summer.

The square/circle is named after James Logan, an Irish-born resident who served as state provincial councilor in 1703 and Philadelphia’s 14th mayor in 1722. He also helped to establish the Library Company of Philadelphia, the first lending library in America.

This neighborhood is a main cultural center of the city.

I personally love the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. It has really intriguing exhibits that explore topics like climate change, water systems, and ocean conservation.

For a good meal, I’d have to recommend Unit Su Vege. It’s a completely vegan Chinese restaurant with amazing bubble tea, Shanghai dumplings, mapo tofu, and spicy rice noodle soup.

Check out Sabrina’s Cafe for delicious lattes, challah french toast, and breakfast burritos. It’s got a super cozy vibe, and is walking distance from the Philadelphia Art Museum

What's your favorite museum or art gallery in Logan Square?
