From a nearly century-old German bakery in Mayfair to a queer-owned vegan bakery in East Falls, these four Philly spots are putting their own spin on Thanksgiving classics. Here's where to preorder your pies, cheesecakes, and other holiday treats before Turkey Day, plus the deadline to get your orders in.

Crust Vegan Bakery (East Falls)

Head to Crust for all your vegan or gluten-free pie options. The woman-owned, queer-owned bakery will have the trifecta of pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies (ranging from $30 to $42) as well as a gluten-free cherry-topped classic cheesecake ($65), a gluten-free pumpkin cheesecake ($65), and sweet potato marshmallow danish buns ($39 for six).

  • Preorder deadline: This deadline is coming up in about a week — place orders now through Nov. 16.
  • How to order: Online here or email them info@crustveganbakery.com. Pickup windows are available Nov. 21-22 and Nov. 24-25, and pickup locations may vary.

Vernick Coffee Bar (Logan Square)

If you're looking for a pie that feels a little more like a pastry chef's creation, Vernick is the pick, with visually striking, seasonal pies that put inventive spins on familiar flavors. Get a gorgeous carrot cake pie with cream cheese frosting and a touch of caramel ($50), or a chocolate pecan pie with maple-sweetened pecans, silky milk chocolate cream, and rich Valrhona dark chocolate chips ($54).

  • Preorder deadline: Place orders now through Nov. 19.
  • How to order: Online here or call 215-419-5052. Pickup windows are Nov. 23-25.

Second Daughter Artisanal Bakery (South Philadelphia, Inside Bok)

There’s pumpkin pie, and there’s Second Daughter’s 9-inch spiced pumpkin pie topped with maple brown sugar ($55). If you’re looking for a breakfast option on Black Friday, these giant croissant cinnamon rolls ($60 for six) look delectable.

  • Preorder deadline: Place orders now through Nov. 21.
  • How to order: Online here (put your pickup window as Nov. 24 or Nov. 25 from 4-6 p.m.), or call 215-350-2207.

Calling itself an “old-world mom-and-pop shop,” this traditional German bakery is serving up fruit crumb pies, cheesecakes, whipped cream pies, and decorated cakes for Thanksgiving. Pies ($13) will be available in-store, but preorders are encouraged.
