Craving a refreshing cocktail but want to skip the hangover? Or maybe you’re embracing Dry January but still want to join your friends for a night out? Philly has many restaurants and bars offering non-alcoholic beverages. Cheers! 🍻

🍸 Bar Hygge | Spring Garden

Located on Fairmount Ave., this bar offers seven zero-proof specialty cocktails. For gin lovers, the Apple a Day is a must-try mocktail – featuring Ritual gin alternative, Seedlip Garden 108, apple sage, honey maple, and Eins Zwei Zero sparkling white.

🍓 Bud & Marilyn’s | Center City

Indulge in two mocktails: The Couples Skate made with grapefruit, lime, and cinnamon syrup, and the Wile E Coyote with strawberry, lemon, and ginger ale. Refreshing and headache-free!

🍷 Ember and Ash | South Philly

At Ember and Ash, you’ll find three unique zero-proof cocktails. If you’re in the mood for a margarita, the Korean spice margarita is the perfect choice. For a gin-inspired option, try Holly’s Elixir made with nonalcoholic gin, pomegranate, pineapple, and lime. This spot also offers a nonalcoholic riesling that’s great for sipping alongside a mocktail.

🎳 Harp & Crown | Center City

At Harp & Crown, you can choose from three zero-proof drinks, including a nonalcoholic German pilsner. For something more tropical, try the Free Bird – a mocktail made with nonalcoholic rum, red aperitif, pineapple, and lime, creating a yummy blend of flavors without the booze.

🍹 Rex at the Royal | Southwest Center Philly

Sit at this beautiful bar and restaurant on South Street and try the Tropical Depression, which will transport you to a cozy beach amid flavors of orange, pineapple, carrot, turmeric, lime, and grenadine.

🍶 Royal Izakaya | Queen Village

In the heart of Queen Village, Royal Izakaya boasts a versatile zero-proof drink menu. Whether you’re in the mood for a nonalcoholic beer, zero-proof wine, or refreshing yuzu spritz with lime, plum bitters, and soda, there’s something here for every palate.

🥂 Wilder | Rittenhouse Square

With a grand total of nine specialty zero-proof cocktails, this is a great place to spend Dry January. Celebrate the new year with the Top Shelf Bubbles, made with orange, lime, and nonalcoholic sparkling wine.

What’s Philly’s Connection to Edgar Allan Poe?

The “The Tell-Tale Heart” author lived in several homes in the city, but only one remains to this day.

A mural on a brick wall depicting a portrait of Edgar Allan Poe against a blue background in an oval frame. He is wearing a black dress coat and tie, and white shirt. Beside him is a quote from his short story Hop-Frog: “ I never knew anyone so keenly alive to joke as the king was. He seemed to live only for joking. To tell a good story of the joke kind, and to tell it well, was the surest road to his favor.”
