⏰ Last Chance

If you want to survive the horrors for an extra week, Eastern State Penitentiary’s Halloween Nights runs through Nov. 8. And if you miss it, the former prison has special talks and pop-up exhibits throughout the month of November.

Discover how Brand X Editions revolutionized the art of screenprinting at the Philadelphia Art Museum. Over 400 screenprints from its archives are on display until Nov. 16.

Speaking of prints, Nazanin Noroozi’s work depicting the collective memory of the migrant experience is on display at the Print Center until Nov. 22.

🗳️ Head to the Polls

Nov. 4 is Election Day! Find your polling place here and exercise your right to vote. Before heading to the booth, use this guide to learn about the races from district attorney to judicial retention.

🛍️ Grab Gifts at These Local Markets

Now’s the time to get your holiday shopping in. Luckily there are a bunch of local vendors you can support this season!

Step off the subway at City Hall station and head up to Dilworth Plaza’s Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market. Located on the west side of City Hall, artisans from fashion designers to jewelers will be selling their goods beginning Nov. 14.

If you get lucky hitting the slots, maybe use your prize to buy a present during Art Star Philly’s Holiday Craft Bazaar. The fair will be at Rivers Casino on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23. Art Star hosts several pop-up markets throughout the year and when we visited in May, we learned a lot about how people feel about Philly.

The Germantown Night Market is taking over Maplewood Mall once again on Nov. 22 from 4 to 9 p.m.

Several neighborhood business districts will be celebrating Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29, including Old City and Manayunk.

The Hanukkah Makers Market returns to the Weitzman National Museum of Jewish American History on Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

🦃 Head to the Thanksgiving Day Parade

The oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the nation is back for its 106th year. Come down to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Nov. 27 for live musical performances, giant balloons of your favorite characters, and special guest appearances.

🍽️ Feast Beyond Thanksgiving

You don’t need to wait until Thanksgiving to eat well. Eat and vote on your favorite chili at the Fishtown Neighborhood Association’s Chili Cookoff and Food Drive on Nov. 8. If you’re craving seafood, Reading Terminal Market is tapping into Philly’s oyster city history by hosting an Oyster Fest on Nov. 13. Or you can relax with a glass of wine or two (and take a bottle home) at Philly Wine Fest on Nov. 22.

🎭 Go to the Theater

The Wilma Theater’s putting on its first offering geared toward families. “The Snow Queen” reimagines the classic tale of a girl’s magical journey through icy landscapes to save her brother. View the performance live on stage from Nov. 11 to Nov. 23.

If you missed all the delight at last month’s Philadelphia Film Festival, you have another chance to see the cinematic talent of Philly’s artistic community. The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival returns for its 18th year, with screenings running from Nov. 6 to Nov. 16.

If you prefer your stories animated, the Philadelphia Animation Festival debuts at the Moore College of Art and Design on Nov. 21 and runs through Nov. 23 with screenings, workshops, and family-friendly activities.
