School Superintendent Talks Student Safety, Year-Round Classes, Closing Schools
Philadelphia School Superintendent Tony B. Watlington sits down for his first interview on City Cast Philly. He talks about student safety, especially given the recent killing of a student on his way to school; the new process for closing schools, which has not gone well in the past; and how the district is beginning to implement the mayor’s plan for year-round schools.
