Guaranteed Income Pilot Gives $500 to Philadelphians Monthly
Xiente wants to try something new in Philly. For 14 months, this nonprofit is launching a pilot program that gives 10 families $500 in guaranteed income each month without restrictions. This is part of an effort to get families out of poverty and thriving. But is that enough money? Host Trenae talks with Dr. Michelle Carrera, chief executive officer of Xiente, about how the program works, the metrics of success, and the possibilities of including more Philadelphian households.
