Where Is It?

A mural on the side of a building of a woman named Mariana Cobos, from Ecuador.

A handful of you knew where to find this mural of banana farmer Mariana Cobos. (Asha Prihar/City Cast Philly)

Welcome to this week’s edition of Where Is It, our fun little public art location game. Let’s start by reviewing last week’s mural, pictured above.

📍 You can find this mural on the side of Riverwards Produce in Fishtown, at the intersection of E. Norris and Sepviva Streets.

🍌 Background: Painted by artist Betsy Casañas in partnership with Fairtrade America, the mural depicts Maria Cobos, a banana farmer who lives in the El Oro province of Ecuador. She’s a member of AsoGuabo, a Fairtrade banana cooperative. According to Fairtrade’s website, Riverwards Produce sells bananas sourced from AsoGuabo.

Gold star for all the Hey Philly readers who knew the location: Kealy D., Sarah M., Mari T., Treshia H., and Jane R.

Now, for this week’s challenge, brought to you by Hey Philly reader Bettie K.

A mural of the same man shown three times, including playing pool.

Do you know where to find this mural? (Bettie K./reader submission)

If you think you know where the above mural is located, submit your guess here or send me an email.
