The menus across Philly’s Chinatown restaurants offer mouth-watering tastes of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and much more.

When it comes to Japanese-American cuisine, this neighborhood offers some of the most “oishi” (delicious) dishes. Where can you get amazing ramen, sushi, and onigiri? I would have to recommend checking out Yamitsuki, the modern, cozy restaurant on 10th and Arch Streets 🍜🍣

In 2016, Jack Chen, owner of bakery A La Mousse, and Kenny Poon, owner of TeaDo, Tango, and Chinatown Square, teamed up with Nom Nom Ramen’s Alan Su to open up Yamitsuki, which offers ramen, sushi, sake, and more.

My recommendation: The miso ramen which is a chicken broth that comes with bamboo, mushroom, a fish cake, scallion, and half of a soft boiled egg.

Yamitsuki has a special place in my heart because it’s actually the first place I ever officially tried sushi and enjoyed it. I would suggest visiting during happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for sushi, sashimi, and cocktail specials.
