Do you love hunting for secondhand treasure? Are you seeking to give your unwanted — but still usable — things a second life? If so, a thrift store may be the place to go.

Philly’s got many spots that will take your things or let you shop for preloved items. Here are some local suggestions from Hey Philly readers and the City Cast Philly team to get you started.

Before you donate anything, make sure you check each store’s donation hours and list of accepted items.

📍 Francisville

This shop — recommended by Hey Philly reader Lisa H. — sells and accepts gently-used, high-quality clothes and accessories. It’s staffed by residents of Project HOME, a nonprofit housing and support organization.

📍 Germantown

City Cast Philly podcast host Trenae Nuri recommends this family-owned biz, where you can browse the inventory of clothes, books, decor, and more — and drop your own used things into the red bin at the front door.

📍 Kensington

Hey Philly reader Natalie suggested this spot for its low prices and “some really good buys.” Keep an eye on the shop’s Instagram posts and stories to stay on top of some of the latest finds.

📍 Queen Village

Several Hey Philly readers enthusiastically recommended this nonprofit shop, where proceeds go toward supporting Philly-area HIV service organizations. They accept and sell a wide range of items, from clothes and shoes to gently-used appliances.

“I think they get so many donations that they always have fresh and cool stuff,” said Hey Philly reader Andrew M. “I always make my friends jealous with my finds.”
